If you want to efficiently manage your contacts, using tags is a highly beneficial strategy. Adding tags during the import of a new contact list allows for easier sorting and categorization. Below, we describe two methods to add tags when importing new contacts.
Option 1: Adding Multiple Tags to Individual Contacts This method is suitable if you need to apply multiple or varied tags to contacts within the list. Here’s how to do it:
Open your .csv file that contains the contact list.
Add a new column titled "Tags."
In this column, enter the tags for each contact, separating multiple tags with a comma. These tags will automatically be created and assigned during the import process.
Example: If you have four contacts in your .csv file and you wish to assign the tag "Test1" to all four, and "TestTag" to just two, arrange your "Tags" column accordingly.
Option 2: Adding Tags to the Entire Contact List Use this method if you wish to uniformly add one or more tags to all contacts in the list. Follow these steps:
Prepare your .csv file with the contact list.
Create a "Tags" column.
Enter the same tags for each contact, which will apply universally across the list during the import.
1. To start, click Contacts Tab.
2. Click Import Contacts
3. Upload your spreadsheet here.
4. Click on "Next".
5. You need to map your contacts here
6. Once that's done, click on "Next".
7. Afterwards, click Advanced
8. Add Tags here
9. Sample Tag
For instance:
If you wish to apply the tag "test" to every contact in the list, just type "test" into the specified field.
Keep in mind that you can add either a single tag or multiple tags. You also have the option to use existing tags or create new ones during the import.
By using these methods, you can easily add tags to your new contact list imports, helping you organize and manage your contacts more efficiently.
