Google My Business Publishing Troubleshooting

This will guide you on how to troubleshoot your GMB

1. Choose the Ideal Aspect Image Ratio

Images play a crucial role in engaging your business audience on social media. If you want to showcase your products to people and give them an idea of how it looks, you can add images to your Google Maps listing. However, Google has certain recommended practices when it comes to image ratio:

  • The ideal image format is JPG or PNG

  • The image size must be between 10 KB to 5 MB

  • The minimum image resolution should be 250x250

  • The photo should be relevant to the product. We highly recommend avoiding posting irrelevant photos.

2. Verify GMB Location to Successfully Publish Posts

To ensure that your posts get successfully published on Google My Business, it is essential that your GMB location is verified. Once you have completed the listing of your location, make sure you verify your business location in Google My Business. You can check the location's status by clicking on "Manage location" or by checking the "Type" section in Social Planner, where you'll see the verified or unverified option.

3.Posting to GMB with Over 10 Locations Not Possible

Unfortunately, Google My Business does not allow users to post to a listing with more than 10 locations. If you have added more than 10 locations, you will receive a message from GMB stating "This location belongs to a chain. The Local Post API is disabled for this location."

This error occurs when GMB does not allow posting through its API. As per guidelines, brands with 10 or more locations are not eligible for posting. To resolve this issue, make sure to select less than 10 locations for each brand while integrating.
